Our approach to self-empowerment at Bay Area Rainbow Day Camp is unique.
We take research based 1. social-emotional intelligence curricula of RULER from Yale University’s Center of Emotional Intelligence, 2. Best practices of creating identity safety from Southern Law Center Poverty’s “Teaching Tolerance” approach to bias and 3. the most celebratory approaches of Resilience training to help gender expansive children when they encounter bias.
We make sure camp is fun! and play-based. Our lessons are conducted in manageable, facilitated lessons and we train our counselors well.
We celebrate all children on the gender spectrum, we help them with strategies to remain calm as they confront external bias.
They will create community and greater self-understanding through our camp.
